I have just assigned a catagory listing menu to the module, it has made no differance to the breadcrumb display.
Just to clarify at the moment when you select a product from the side module it takes you to the product page and the breadcrumb trail shows the page you navigated from followed by the product name. E.g >previous_page>product_name
What I am looking for is when the product is selected from the side module it takes the user to the product page but updates the breadcrumb trail to show a trail as if the user had navigated to the product through the catagories.
E.g >catagory>sub_catagory>product_name
Is this possible?

You won't be able to get the category tree in the breadcrumb from a module (that is not without modifying core files of hikashop). The breadcrumb principle is to display the path the user followed to come to a page. Since a module is directly on the template, there is no navigation information which is why it just display the "previous_page" in the breadcrumb.

There are some other things you can do depending on how you are displaying the products. If you wanted to put a link in the product description, the standard link for the product would give you the pathway you are after, and you can also change the category-pathway number in the link to reflect a different pathway.

I have a Random products module on my page. Each time we were clicking on a produt in this module, the breadcrumb was incorrect.
This Random products module uses the file listing_img_pane.php to display products.
Last week, we filled the « Canonical url » field FOR EACH product in our store.
After this, we edit the file listing_img_pane.php and modify these lines :
The breadcrumb il always like we want now!
Thanks
