Hello,

If you want Hikashop or your web site to work fine with mobile phones, you'll just have to find a Joomla Template that can handle mobile phones.

Hope this will help you :).

sounds great, so if template is made as Responsive Design, HikaShop will behave in responsive manner?
HINT: Look at responsinator.com

if hikashop is made to adapt to the user's viewing environment (mobile, tablet, laptop etc.), than this is really great indeed...is it?

HikaShop is not responsive yet.
We'll work on that in a few months.

However, some templates, like the mainstream ones, have a "mobile" template mode which adapts your website to mobile phones. That's different from responsive design.

i am looking forward to responsive HikaShop, as i plan to use Hika Business in next project, and it will be very important to work well on mobile devices such as tablets, iphones and android devices.

Project is starting in 40days or so, i hope HikaShop will be responsive by that time.

Keep up the good work
Regards

It won't. As I said in my previous message, we'll work on that in a few months.

It should be yes, as long as you don't modify the views since all the changes will be in the views for that.

If it helps, I tend to use rockettheme templates in my websites as the have a section in their gantry system that lets you define the exact page positions to display and where to display them on android and iphone device, this is great as the webpage adapts to the device.

You're right.
But there ways to achieve that.
For example you can restrict some menus to the mobile version of the template.
That way, you could duplicate your products listing menu and have one which would display for the mobile version and another one for the normal version.
Then, in the hikashop options of the menu, you could change the number of columns, images size, etc so that it fits properly.

That's not responsive but it already helps a lot for listings.
Then, for then product page, you could change a bit the code to adapt it based on the current menu:
global $Itemid;
if($Itemid==XX){
// display one way
}else{
// display another way
}
where XX would be the id of a menu.

It is in the road map.
Next are:
wishlist system
cart management
advanced reporting along with new widget options
badges system
lot of new payment plugins
multi vendor

All that is currently being developed here. Next will be the compatibility with 3.0, PHP 5.4, responsive design, recurring payments.

yes indeed, whishlist system is very desirable for any webshop. Do you have any ETA for it, since it is already under development.
