We're looking to replace our current payment gateway on a site we are migrating to HikaShop
Existing gateway is PinPayments

Lots of digging and discovered this plugin which is somewhat out of date.

Anyone know of a more up to date version or alternative?
Not a lot of solutions for Australia, yes eWay which is a bit

Hi,

I checked the code of this plugin and it looks fine as far as I can see. It should work with the latest version of Joomla and HikaShop.
Did you fine any issue with it ?

I'm not in the habit of installing apps that state J3 as the last update on my J4 site
Thanks for that check as I wasn't too sure.

Will see what eventuates on the test site.

Client decided to go ahead with Pin

Tried the J! install process and obviously got
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Unable to detect manifest file.

Unzipped to check ... Readme says
Unzip and install in /plugins/hikashoppayment/pin/

Did that and doesn't appear anywhere.

Thoughts?

Hi,

In the zip they provide, you have the folder plugins/hikashoppayment/pin/
Zip everything in that folder and install the zip via the Joomla extension installer and it should work.

On and on it goes where it stops nobody knows

Install when like a dream ...... except ... when I go to add a new payment I get the dreaded message that the plugin isn't compliant message
An error has occurred.
0 Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Application\AdministratorApplication::isSite()

Chasing down the devs has been problematic.
Also discovered that an Omnipay install is required which is equally as outdated.

Dead end unless I can get someone to update or build a new plugin.

I'm not a fan in so many ways with eWay, the only other Aussie payment gateway.

Hi,

Indeed this error indicates that the plugin was made for Joomla 3 and its code was not updated for Joomla 4 and 5.
I looked into it and the necessary changes for Joomla 4 / 5 support are not difficult to add.
I've made a pull request to push the changes to the repository of the developer :

You can manually get the code of the full pin.php from here ( github.com/hikashop-nicolas/hikashop_pin...ppayment/pin/pin.php ) to update the file on your end via FTP.

The Omnipay library is already included in the plugin. So you should not need to install it yourself or update it.
Providing a working payment plugin with an old library is quite common. You can't necessary update the plugin every few months when the developer of the library decides to publish a new version of the library. And usually, it isn't a problem to keep an old version of a library in a plugin for at least a few years.
