Issue with subscription renewal due to redirect conflict?

Hello,

SCENARY 1
If a customer access his subscription via the "renew subscription" email, he gets to this url
accademiainfinita.it/shop/subscription/listing

upon clicking on "Action > renew" he gets to something like : accademiainfinita.it/shop/cassa/cart_id-2244

but this page does not show the cart and there is no possibility to go on with the purchase, it just shows the shop categories

SCENARY 2
If a customer access his subscription via the site menu, he gets to this url
accademiainfinita.it/shop/dashboard/subscription/listing

1) upon clicking on Action > renew he gets to something like : accademiainfinita.it/shop/cassa/cart_id-2244
same error already mentioned above

2) some times they get redirected to a page which shows the cart and they can proceed , the URL is: accademiainfinita.it/shop/dashboard/cassa/cart_id-2244
notice "dashboard" in the above url

============

Any idea how to solve this?

I have the following menu items which may be related to this issue:

- Shop (Hikashop main page)
- - dashboard (User Hikashop dashborad)
- - cassa (Hikashop checkout)

In Hikashop
configurations > main > checkout
under "Force a menu in checkout"
I have set the "cassa" menu

(could this be a problem?)

other than that I don't have any redirects in my htacess concerning hikashop pages, I just checked it

Thank you

Hi,

1. Regarding scenario 1, I think there an issue with how the product for the renewal is configured and because of that, the add to cart is not successful. I'm not sure. We would need a backend and a FTP access to look into it.
Could you provide that along with a link to this thread via our contact form ?
www.hikashop.com/support/contact-us.html

2. Regarding scenario 2, this will happen as HikaSerial doesn't change the current menu item when directing to the checkout.
In that case, the "force a menu during checkout" setting in the HikaShop configuration is supposed to self correct the current menu item when the checkout is being accessed from another menu item.
However, it might not work properly based on how the checkout SEF name setting is configured. Indeed, if the checkout SEF name is the same as the menu item, then when the URL is accessed, the system doesn't know anymore if it's the SEF name or the menu item name. How did you configure the checkout SEF name ? If you change it, does it help ?

I sent you the access details.
I changed "force menu during checkout" to none and it seems to have solved the issue described in scenario 2

Thanks

I have to close access to the live site for security reasons,
but I have solved scenario 2 and corrected the subscription expiration notice link so that scenario 1 never happens

thank you

Hello,

I worked on a patch which will be include in the next release.
It will allow HikaSubscription to read the "force menu on checkout" setting to use that for the URL creation ; and if there is no menu configured, it will continue to use the previous algorithm.
