Hello,

I'm trying to use Hikaserial to have x2 separate recurring yearly memberships.

One is Full Membership and the other is Associate Membership. Please see here - www.dah01.jroot.layer3.co.uk/index.php/memberships

I think I have done the correct settings in "plans", "products" and "subscriptions" (although I don't really understand what "subscription" does).

In "Payment Methods" I selected "Hikashop Paypal Recurring Payment Plugin". However, when going to the checkout it says "No payment methods found".

How do I fix this?

Thank you

Hello,

Can you please provide details regarding the configuration of your products ?

A "subscription" is created when a customer buy a product (associated with a plan).
Once a subscription is created, it can be renewed or upgrade (depending the configuration).

In order to use a recurring payment method, you have to associate the product with the plan using the "create or renew" type ; it will allow the product to create a subscription and also renew it (with the same product & price).

Thank you! You guys support is so good!

I changed the Relation type to Renewal or Creation and it now works.

So a "subscription" will be created when a customer buys these products? That makes sense.

Is there a way I can stop both products from being added to the cart at the same time?

Hello,

There is no setting in HikaSerial for that but you can use the HikaShop product limit system.

Thank you. Is this available in the Starter version? I can't see the "Limit" option under "Products".

Thanks

Sorry back to the main topic.

When checking out and redirecting to PayPal, I get the message "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later."

Do you know why this is happening? Is it something to do with my Hikashop Paypal Recurring Payment Plugin configuration?

Thanks

Hello,

Unfortunately the error message do not details the nature of the issue.
Best is to check your Paypal account log or contact the Paypal support team to get more information about the problem.

Ah, that's a shame :( My PayPal account seems to be fine. I'm using it with other plugins.

Can you please confirm if the "Limit" option is available with the starter hikashop?

Thanks

I just made a very strange discovery. I changed the PayPal email address in the Paypal Recurring Payment Plugin and this fixed it.

Both PayPal accounts are personal and not business accounts. The only difference is one email is 26 characters and the other is 22 characters.

Do you think that has anything to do with it on your end? I'm going to contact PayPal to see if there is anything wrong with the first account.

I'm happy that this is now working but I'm concerned that the customer's PayPal email might not work.

Thanks,
Josh.

Hello,

I don't see why the number of character in your email address would affect the Paypal communication.
If you were able to make it work using another account, it might be related to something configured in your first one, like the accepted currencies or something else (hard to tell without an error message).
Paypal support would be best for such question.

Regarding the limit feature in HikaShop starter, I don't see any mention in the documentation page that I gave you.
But you can open a new thread in the HikaShop section of the forum in order to ask the HikaShop support team :)

I spoke to Paypal a while ago and they told me that a personal account shouldn't work on a website at all - which is not true. However, using a business account has fixed multiple issues I was having.
