-- HikaShop version -- : 3.4.1
-- HikaSerial version -- : 2.1.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.10
-- PHP version -- : 7.1.18
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 67

Hi guys,
as far as you see in the image I attach here, updating Hika Serial Subscription (mean do it through the joomla install process) is multiplying the Update Site links records (in the image you can see 3 different records ID 27, 35, 43)...

I was able to reproduce the issue, Can you confirm it ?
Please, How can I solve it ?
What is the right record I have to keep ?
- Is it better to delete the last ones, ID 35, 43, and "Rebuild" the record link (take a look on my previous post links) ? ( Rebuild function / Rebuild button )
- Or Is it better to delete the first ones, ID 27, 35 ?
What are the two records I have to delete ? Can I use the Joomla > Update Sites delete button ? (Or Ihave to use phpMyAdmin to delete them)

Hello,

Thanks for the report.

Unfortunately, that side effect is coming from the Joomla core since there is now the introduction of the "updateserver" in the HikaSerial install XML (to follow the JED rules).
I will see to add some code to delete what Joomla core is duplicating.

Regards,

PS : ID 27 is the good one

Hi Jerome, updating:

-- In first I updated HikaShop Business version -- : 3.4.1 > 3.5.1 - it has deleted the HikaSerial string and has created two new HikaShop strings with same ID (104), but one with name "HikaShop" and the other one as "HikaSerial", I attach for you an image

-- Then, I updated HikaSerial Subscription version -- : 2.1.1 > 2.2.0 - and another new string is created (it is not overwritten the one with name "HikaSerial")

Please, Is it right that all the times I update it change the ID number (delete and then create a new one) ?

PS I noted that HikaShop / HikaSerial Subscription are the only two extensions installed that have the version number into the link (may be it can help you)

Hello,

The Joomla update system allow several components/plugin to be associated to one "update server".
In your case, and I can't explain why for the moment, HikaSerial has been associated with the HikaShop update server URL.
The final ID you see is the update server ID, so it is normal that you see the same since the two components are associated to it.

Before the release, I made some tests and I tough that the issue was solved.
I will look into it but it would require some time ; With the Joomla 4 integration and some other big development, the schedule is already tight !

Hello,

I wrote that I will do some tests.

Afterwards, there is no new HikaSerial release coming for the moment.

Hi guys (Hi Jerome),
tested on last releases:
-- PHP version -- : 7.1.23
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.4.0
-- HikaSerial version -- : 2.2.0

HikaShop has updated its string correctly
HikaSerial has updated its string correctly and deleted the two wrong ones.

So, seem the issue has been solved, thanks
