Coupon generator help

I need a little more help to understand the coupon generation system.

I found the way to use a Hikashop coupon as template and generate a bunch of them in the Hikashop Couponlist.

Now I need to assign a range of 100% discount coupons to one product to give away items.

In this case we don't need a Hikashop coupon as template or is this mandatory?
I create with the coupon generator plug in a setting: Lets call it FREE, put in 100% discount, 30 days and length 10
Then create a pack, call it FREE , use the coupongen FREE from the plugin, activate and save. Then generate 10 serials that show up in the serials list. Seems ok so far.
But than I go to an article in HShop and assign this create pack to it. This then also shows up in Hserial.

But when I try to use this code in the front end it says 'invalid code'.

Please tell me where it went wrong.

Hi,

A template coupon is always required for the coupon generator.
The plugin would copy the template coupon and change some values. For the moment, the plugin could not generate a full coupon itself.

The "variable discount" is a percentage of the linked product price.

Variable discount - If not empty, it would override the coupon flat amount by the percentage of the linked product price.

So it would not create a 100% discount coupon. This option allow to create a variable discount price ; depending on the linked product.

OK thanks that is mostly clear.

So what is the best way to generate 100% free gift serials for one product? (bit confused with your last sentence about 100% not being 100% :-( )

Hi,

You can create a coupon template for the 100% discount on your selected product.
HikaSerial would simply copy the template.

Just let the variable discount empty and it would not override the coupon price value.
