Individual Upload space for each vendor.

Hi, my problem is [There are no picture upload botton in the FRONT END]

When vendor is write the product description at FRONT END
(No problem at BACK END at all)
they need to upload some pictures, and I allow them
to upload via joomla editor which mean each vendor
must be upload in to the same share space
and they can delete another vendor picture freely.
I want to separate each vendor upload space.
I already try to set ALC but nothing work.
Any suggest please.

Hi,

HikaMarket manage the download of the product images and the product files.
These elements are stored in different folder, one specific and unique folder per vendor.

But, you are talking about the product description, where the download of your files is done with "jDownloads".
"jDownloads" is not HikaMarket so unfortunately, it does not support the vendor system. It can't know that the user is a vendor and that it has to use a specific folder for the vendor.

Hi
It's surprises me that this is unavailable in multivendor system,
in my opinion this item is a must item,
From my experience the product description play a high important role of Sale volume,
and I need vendors to as easy as possible to make an interest product description.
(Only text description is not a good looking at all)

The product picture can be upload and delete easily
I think my request is possible to implement.

I really need this function in front end for my business
so I wish to "pay" for code modification.
Is it possible?
if it not it will be a big trouble in my investment!

and the picture make complicate text description to be an easy one!

Hi,

I really don't understand what you want.
You're talking about product picture and product description.

In HikaMarket you can upload product pictures. The pictures are vendor independent.
A vendor could not access to pictures of another vendor. The main vendor (the admin) could access to all vendor pictures.

The product description use an editor. The editor could be "tinymce", a raw editor or one editor from the long list of Joomla editors.
If the editor propose an upload system, the upload system is on the plugin/component itself. We can't make magic like that.

Kunena has his own upload system, like HikaMarket have for the product.
The vendor could use the product images that he has upload in his product description if the editor allows drag & drop.
Because you can upload images, you can list them too. So you can retrieve the image path and use it in the product description.

What I want to explain you is that, the upload in HikaMarket works good and jDownloads is not HikaMarket.
The editor for the product description should propose editing features, but for download features, I don't think that it is the right place.

I see, when editor propose an upload system it can't
divide each vendor storage, so I give up with editor solution
and I propose another way to easy upload picture for using in product description.

if that is't the right place to upload pictures
it mean if vendor want to place some pictures into description
vendor need to upload picture in somewhere like flickr or dropbox
and retrieve URL to use in their description?

or I have to set up some picture upload component/module in my website to
allow vendor to upload and retrieve URL for using in description
->If you know some picture upload component/module please advice.

Hi,

I think that the product pictures are the right places for it.
When you upload an image using HikaMarket, the file is placed in the right place for the vendor.
Images could not be used as a product picture but the file would stay in the vendor gallery.

He could use the gallery to list his images and use them into the product description.
Like I said, I don't thing the editor should embedded an uploader but it could insert an image using the URL. It would be easier with drag & drop or a browser.
Using flickr, dropbox or another site would not be required because, with the HikaMarket uploader you could already upload images, get the URL and use them in the editor.

Hi
I found some inconvenient that vendor can't retrieve
full product image URL (it show only thumbnail URL not full image URL)
until he/she has saved product and then can retrieve image URL
from product display page, it's looks annoying for me,
and I think it's sound like not a professional way
(I mean not looking good way) to tell my vendor to do like that
furthermore I can't control each vendor storage limit too.

Hi,

The gallery could be improved (and we have points in the TODO list to improve the gallery system, in order to upload, delete and manage files directly with it).
The store limitation is in the TODO list too. In order to limit the total size or the number of files, etc.

I agree with you that the system is not completely finish, that's why we still working on it to implement new features and improve the existing ones.
