Hi,

I create a feature request ticket in our system.
This features is interesting and could be done using a little plugin (or integrated directly in HikaMarket).
For the moment, I think we will create a little plugin which will change the user group when a vendor is created.

In the configuration of the plugin, you will be able to select the target user group and after that, the plugin will do his job.

The plugin should be include in the next release but, maybe we will release it before thanks to the forum. We will see.

Hi,

I've just made the little plugin for HikaMarket.
For a first version, it works fine.

Hi,

I will fix this error in HikaMarket but the configuration of this plugin is accessible in the Joomla plugin listing.
You have to look for the hikamarket plugins, publish it and edit his configuration.

There are three options :
- The user group for the vendors
- Yes/No : move the user group (more than, add the first option and if yes, remove the third option)
- The previous user group for the user (that the user could loose)

There seem to be an issue with the plugin.

After registering as a Vendor, the user group change to the following:
"Registered" => "Public", "Vendor"

User Group "Public" keep showing up

Hi,

Yes, this is a side effect of the way we retrieve the user groups.
But every account is "public" so there is no real problem to be in "public, vendor" because, being "vendor" is being "public" too.
We will see to improve it but don't worry, it does not have side effect, it's not a critical issue.

Hi Jerome, I've enabled this plugin so that I can add a registration link ('vendor-edition') to the menu to allow users to register as vendors in the front end. The link works fine and users can register - they are assigned the 'vendor' user group set in the plugin - as expected.

However, I am having a couple of issues related to the menu item...

The first issue is that I cannot hide the menu item from the 'Vendor' user group. The menu link is set to be viewable by 'registered' members, however as the vendor user group by necessity is a child of the registered member group the menu item remains visible. :(

From what I have read this seems to be a Joomla ACL limitation so I'm not really expecting an answer but if you know of a workaround it would be appreciated.

However this leads me on to issue number 2...

As the registration link ('vendor-edition') menu item cannot be hidden from 'vendors' it remains both visible and accessible. The problem is that when a vendor clicks on it it generates an error message.

'Error :The action "Vendor edition" is forbidden'

Is it possible to remove / disable / suppress this error message? The navigation works fine as it points to the vendor account page, if I could suppress the error message I would be happy to leave the registration link in there.

The other option is to remove the menu item altogether and embed a link within a joomla article but I'm not sure if its possible to link directly to com_hikamarket in this manner.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

just discovered the direct call

/index.php?option=com_hikamarket&task=form

Will add this into an article and junk the menu item.

Would still be interested to learn if there is a workaround for hiding the menu items from specific usergroups.

Hi,

When you select "special" you select in fact a Joomla Role.
With Joomla 2.5 and 3.x, you can create new roles and assign some user groups into these roles.

By default there are three roles, and the "special" one contains all user groups except some "public" one.
In your case, you need more roles for your menu configuration.
