Hi there,

Is there any way to allow vendors to set their own sales tax rate?

I'm building a site that will operate in the USA, and tax rates vary by state, county etc. So there's really no way to have ALL the tax rates covered. Can I let vendors enter a tax rate manually, and if so, how?

Hello,

Vendors can set-up the tax category for their products ; you can also use the "product template" system to force the values depending the vendor (via the template).

If you want to handle US taxes, we highly recommend to you "TaxCloud".

Hi,

Tried to check out TaxCloud, but the link takes me to a page that says it's unavailable.

I'd really just like to have each vendor enter their own tax rates. How do I allow them to do that? Do I have to set them all up in the backend first, or can they just enter it from the frontend dashboard?

Hello,

Since tax rates/categories are shared between every vendors, they cannot be allowed to add or edit them.
So, HikaMarket does not include the interface for tax edition since it's some kind of advanced configuration ; so it's only available in the HikaShop backend.

Hi there,

What happens if I don't set up any taxes, and I just have everyone enter a price without tax and with tax when creating products?

See video for example of what I mean. 1drv.ms/v/s!ApCULpUUmrCAj5oDk1nM2FI7A4ibvQ?e=CEorGT

That would simplify everything dramatically, so I am hoping it's possible to do it that way.

If so, do I just hide the default tax option?

Hello,

HikaShop (and so HikaMarket) doesn't allow you to enter a price with and without tax at the same time.
One of them need to be fill by the user and the other is processed dynamically depending the tax rules (via the tax category).

You can use the HikaMarket template system if you want to force the tax category for all new products.
By putting the tax category in the template you will choose the default value ; and if you remove the ACL to edit the tax category, that value will become a forced value.
