Hikashop will not proceed to checkout.....

Hi,

- Site (J! 1.7.3, Hika 1.5.6) has been working fine for a couple of weeks
- No changes made to site in terms of new modules, components, settings changes etc

Got reports today that clicking on the "Proceed to Checkout" button from the shopping cart was just redisplaying the page. This was working a couple of hours ago for sure as a purchase came through the shop. Cleared J! cache, restated the web server (just in case ;-)) and still no joy. Turned *off* "Search Engine Friendly URLs" in J! SEO "Global Configuration Settings" and hey presto it works.

Any suggestions as to what is going on here? I need to turn on friendly URL's for SEO. How do I diagnose / troubleshoot this?

Hi,

It could be javascript, SEF URLs, caching or something else maybe.
What SEF system are you using ? Joomla's ? Could you try to turn off all the caching in joomla and have the SEF activated ? Does it work ?
We would need to look at that on your website with the SEF activated in order to analyze the problem and understand it.
Could you do a copy of your website and activate the SEF there and give a link to it so that we can see that ?
