HikaShop functionality questions

Looking at different ecommerce options for our (Joomla) business website and have come across HikaShop but need some further information to see if it matches our needs.

1) Due to the nature of the business we would most of the time not be selling online at a fixed price but would instead operate a 'quote cart' into which a customer can add products, submit the enquiry and then be contacted by sales staff with a price. I know this is possible by customising the checkout workflow but going forward it is possible we may want to offer certain products or product groups for direct ordering from the website while keeping the rest quote only. Is it possible to alter the checkout process depending on what is in the basket?

2) Regular account customers of the business will often receive preferential rates on certain products and be set up on a pricing scheme unique to that customer. In the future we may want to offer account customers the option of ordering directly online. Is it possible to make prices customer specific and import/export these in csv format?

1) A way of doing that could be to add a custom field on the products and in the checkout check the type of the products, if both type echo an error, if direct ordering then display the standard checkout workflow, if quote remove the payment and shipping steps and add a custom field for the price quote.

2) We don't manage rates by customers, we can set discounts on groups, use the ACL, set many prices on products but not personal discounts.

Thanks! I've not looked into this too deeply but would a workaround of creating a separate group for each customer on discounts be feasible?

Yes, you can create a separate group for each customer and apply a discount on this group.
It will too require php modification.
