Improve Bulk Import Feature

We would like to put in a request to improve import tool/feature to allow importing of various spreadsheets that have products with multiple variants/characteristics. Apparel items or products with multiple colors, sizes, etc. Or be able to merge spreadsheet with tool to allow correct import into Hikashop. B)

Hi,

It is already possible to import CSVs with products with multiple variants/characteristics.
Create such product on your backend, export it, and you will have an example of what the import CSV should look like for that.

Hi Nicolas, maybe we are asking for the wrong thing? We have 1000+ products and they all have different
variants/characteristics. We understand export of product. I think this only works for product with similiar variants. Or maybe we need a way to prepare data before import? Not sure what i am missing. I know what we are trying to do is or should be common to others. However, i have not been successful finding anyone that can load these products or has succeeded with similiar data. All our single line products load fine. Our data sheet has multiple lines with variants of same product?

If you want to import additional characteristics or characteristic values in HikaShop, you can import a CSV in the hikashop_characteristic table of HikaShop via your phpmyadmin.
For the structure of the CSV, you can export the data of that table as a CSV and then open it in Excel and complete it with what you need before importing it back.

But then, for the variants of the products, once the characteristics and their values are in the hikashop_characteristic table, you can reference them in your product CSV. Again, you can use a CSV exported in HikaShop for an example.
