module class suffix not taking effect

For the site I am working on, I have 4 random products I want to display on the site landing page, one from each of four categories. I have setup 4 Hikshop random product modules. To style these div's I need to add a module class suffix but the class names do not appear in the div tags. These are the steps I use to edit the module:

1. Go into modules from Joomla's Extension's menu
2. Open one of the four random products modules
3. Click on the Options tab
4. under Basic Options enter a label such as customClass in the text box beside Module Class Suffix. I have tried this both with and without a leading space to add to or replace the class definition of the div.
5. Click Save.

Could you provide a link to your website? I'll be able to visualize the html structure and help you with it.
Anyway, Hikashop doesn't propose class suffix since the module ids are always the same. You can thus override your specific module by using this specific id.
Also, why don't you create a unique module with your 4 random products with it? It sounds easier to me.

At this time, sharing a site url is not possible for I have not deployed to a production server. While the idea of a unique module is challenge I want to take on, where do I begin? Never made a unique or custom module before. Can you point Me in the direction of good tutorial?
