Hi There, I have a fairly modified installation of Hikashop Business.

And I noticed that all the various types of emails sent from Hikashop are delivered to some of the recipients.

For example - I set up 4 users each with their own email address:
- one email is hosted with a local ISP
- one email is hosted on hotmail
- one email is on a self hosted Exchange server
- one email is a Google hosted domain (i.e. gmail for business)

The users with the local ISP and Hotmail email accounts don't receive any emails from Hikashop - for example I went in to the users in Hikashop and clicked the email icon to send them an email - typed out a test email and sent and it wasnt received.

Did the same test with the other 2 users (with Gmail and Exchange accounts) and they both received it OK.

I then emailed all four email addresses from within a Joomla article - and all 4 were received OK. So it appears to just be email originating from within Hikashop.

Joomla is currently at 2.5.14 and Hikashop is 2.2.0

Cheers!!

Hi,
If you don't get the email, check your spam box. If you don't have it, check that you can send emails with Joomla (from the mass mail component for example). If you don't receive the emails, it's likely that the email configuration of the joomla configuration page is not correct. You should ask your hosting company about what you should put there.
If you receive them with the local ISP and Hotmail email accounts , it's likely that the email configuration of the hikashop configuration page is not correct. You should ask your hosting company about what you should put there. Usually, it comes from either the charset encoding, or the "add names" option.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for the reply...

I have done this - it's not in there...

Yes, I can send emails to any email address from within Joomla (i.e. the "Email this link to a friend" email works fine to any email address).

I have tried all the encoding options with Add Names turned on and off and no emails were received.

I have requested my host take a look at the configuration to see if they can assist but in the meant time do you have any other ideas I might be able to try?

Cheers

Hi,

HikaShop use the Joomla email system, so the mails should be received by all the email addresses like the Joomla emails.
If you have tried all the settings in HikaShop, the problem seems to come from the server configuration.

The default parameters are:
Encoding format: base 64
Charset: UTF-8
