Registration not working.

When you try to register an account with the store, after registering (completing the fields and hitting submit) it shows the error "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet."

When you then try and log in it says username/password wrong or account doesn't exist, yet in the user manager the user shows up, if you then set the user's password manually as the Super User, they can log in.

Does anyone know why this isn't working correctly? (I.e. why the password they set during registration isn't working and why it's flagging that error upon registration.)

The error only shows when registering using the Registration form on the check out page.

If you use the 'register' link at the top of the site, it says registration successful. However you still can't log in.

Hi Alex,

It's a known joomla issue. As you saw, it doesn't only affect Hikashop but the whole website.
It might be related to either your php version or something else.
If you google this problem, you'll find a lot of solutions on Joomla forums.

Thanks, i probably should have googled it first but was currently using hikashop registration while checking out I have found a fix now anyway thanks.
