Hi, I was reading a bunch of topics about this, but I have not been able to find a solution to my problem. I want to be able to sell pictures on my website. I have it set up so that it will sell (it is in sandbox mode for PayPal right now), I can not get it to let me just download the image at all. It will take me to PayPal, I will buy it and then I can click the link to go back to my site, but it will only say, "Thank you for your purchase." There is no download link. Even when I make the image free, I don't get the option to download. I have made the weight and volume and height all 0 and even taken the shipping out of the checkout process and nothing is working. I have made the products and added the image and the file.

Can you please tell me what else I'm missing or doing wrong? I am a beginner to Joomla and I really don't know PHP.

This is for a school project, so I will not be making any money off of this, but it is the difference between passing and failing my course. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,

When you come back from paypal, the order is not yet validated by Paypal (using the IPN), so the order is not yet confirmed.
Paypal will trigger your website using the IPN system and set the order as confirmed.
Once the order confirmed, the customer will be able to download the private files thanks to his user control panel (there is a download section) or directly in his order (in the user control panel too, or thanks to the confirmation email).

But first, you have to check that the order is right confirmed by paypal.
If the order is not confirmed, it won't be possible to download the file.

Hi,
Thank you so much for responding so quickly! That makes sense. I'm not sure how to get to the User's control panel. And is the download link only in the e-mail that they get sent after they make a payment and the payment is confirmed?

Thank you very much and I really love Hikashop.

Hello Shawnee,

1. You'll be able to enable your customer download space, through the "Enable customer download area" option of your "Hikashop->System->Configuration->'Main'" page.

The download space will allow your customer to see all their available download files and download them until they reach the download limit.

This download will be available through the "User control panel" which will just be a joomla menu item with a Type set to "User control panel".

2. Yes, the download link will only be displayed on your order confirmation email.

Thank you so much for your help! It's very much appreciated. If I ever need to actually create an e-commerce shop for a client, I will be buying Hikashop!
