Does HikaShop set cooking for my customers?

I was just starting to use the Free Privacy Policy generator at www.freeprivacypolicy.com and ran into some questions for which I did not know the answer. I am thinking that HikaShop does not set cookies to function but wanted to confirm that. Here are the questions I need to answer. I am assuming that we do NOT use cookies for HikaShop but not positive.

Do you use cookies on your site?

Complete the statement by selecting ALL the checkboxes that apply.

We use cookies to:

  • Help remember and process the items in the shopping cart.
  • Understand and save user's preferences for future visits.
  • Keep track of advertisements.
  • Compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions in order to offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may also use trusted third party services that track this information on our behalf.

If your users disable cookies in their browser:
  • It will turn off some of the features of the site
  • It won't affect the users experience

Will a customer be able to purchase items in the store if they disable their cookies?

Hi,

Totally impossible.
Without cookie you do not have any session in Joomla and without session, you can't be logged or store the cart content.

That is what I figured. I got confused because I found some older messages in the forum that seemed to indicate that HikaShop did not use cookies. It didn't make sense to me either. thanks.
