-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- HikaMarket version -- : 1.6.7
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.8
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.27
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : firefox 43.0.4

My goal is to use different prices for different groups of customers. For that purpuse I use ACL on prices.
When a customer subscribes via hikashop this customer is assign to a stanndard user group (for instance A)

Is it possible to assign a customer to a usergroup from the front-end or to change the usergroup to which the customer is assign to? (by a shop manager).
I dont want to give my shopmanager permission to acces the backend of the website

Hi,

The user groups are related to Joomla users.
In the HikaShop backend you can't access to that information when you display the customer profile ; but you have a button in the toolbar to display the Joomla user profile.

I clearly understand your feature request and your point of view.
It could be an interesting feature but we have to be really careful with that. The Joomla user groups can give more than price accesses, it can also provide a backend access to an account.
That's why, if such feature is integrated in HikaMarket ; the admin won't be able to assign any usergroup to users but only few selected one and HikaMarket should not touch the rest ; like it should not allow to edit an account who have some admin accesses (or give admin access).

Thank you for tour quick reply

You are right , you don't want the the front-end admin to be able to asign a user to any joomla usergroup.

Is there another way to achieve my goal. F.I by using discount for certain customer groups?

Is there a difference between joomla group and customer group?

Hi,

There is no "customer group" ; there is only Joomla user groups.
HikaShop (and HikaMarket) are integrated with Joomla ; so it uses the Joomla accounts and the Joomla user groups.
Thanks to that integration with Joomla, it allows our components to also be integrated and compatible with other Joomla components.

Not sure if it helps in your case but recently I had to allow managers to edit users from the front end and ended up using this extension:
DM Frontend User Manager
