-- HikaMarket version -- : 1.7.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1

I would like to request a new feature to allow vendors to set up a customised 'Holiday Message' to be displayed when a customer views the vendor's products. The message could be displayed as a pop-up or a badge perhaps.

Thanks

Hi,

Can you please provide more details about your feature request ?
I don't see what you want to achieve and I don't know if it's related to HikaMarket or HikaShop.

If a vendor is on holiday and unable to supply their products until they return I would like to notify the customer of the delay when they view any of the vendor's products. Ideally this would be something the vendor could set up from their control panel without involving the main vendor.

The message could be displayed as a pop-up perhaps or somewhere on the product page.

The fields required might be:

  • Holiday message - WISIWIG
  • Holiday start date - date selector
  • Holiday return date - date selector
  • Enable - Yes/No

Thanks

Hi,

Surely not in the product page ; it is not related to the product but to the vendor itself.
And regarding your request, it is not something which will be available directly in HikaMarket but thanks to a plugin.
The fields could be vendor custom fields without any problem ; the plugin should add some content in the product page and could interact differently depending his settings (not authorize the product to be bought or just display warning).

What I meant was that the message would be displayed in the product page as a pop-up or somewhere.

Anyway you have given me a clue as to where to start and I will have a go at building a plugin using vendor custom fields.

Thanks

I managed to get it working and have attached my plug-in if anyone else wants to use it. The coding is not very elegant but seems to do the job!

Create the following custom fields in the vendor table and set them to display in the front end before enabling the plug-in:

  • vendor_holiday_start - Advanced date picker.
  • vendor_holiday_end - Advanced date picker.
  • vendor_holiday_message - textarea (or WISIWIG)
  • vendor_holiday_enable - radio button with values 'yes' 'no'.

File Attachment:

File Name: holidaymes...7-05.zip
File Size:2 KB

UPDATE: I have added a facility for the main vendor to be notified by email if the sub-vendor changes the publish status of their holiday message. The settings are on the plug-in page.

regards
Trevor
