PayPal confirmation not being sent to HikaMarket

Since installing HikaMarket adaptive payments, orders aren't updating as "Confirmed" after the customers pay for their products. The customers are paying for their products via PayPal, but aren't able to download the books they purchase because the order status still says Created. Then their accounts on our website say that they need to pay for the books. Why isn't it updating like it should?

Hi,

The paypal adaptive plugin use the same "IPN" system to receive updates from paypal.
Please check the order history and please check the paypal history.
It is possible that the payment not really "confirmed" in paypal and you have to confirm manually something (if the currency is different, the first time you have to confirm it manually).

I checked the order history on our website and I had to manually update the status to confirmed for those whose orders weren't confirmed.
I've checked PayPal and orders are being processed like they should be. Payments are set up to be automatically processed. The only thing that may be affecting the status is our PayPal API application still says "Conditionally approved," although PayPal tech support said we could start using the Live ID.
I noticed in the PayPal Adaptive plugin there is no PayPal notification setting like there is in the PayPal plugin (for regular payments).
I've also emailed PayPal to make sure I have everything set up correctly for Adaptive Payments on our account. It worked fine before I started using Adaptive Payments.

Hi,

Do you have a notification url configured in your paypal account ?
It is possible that the "paypal" plugin is triggered when the order are confirmed, and not the "paypal adaptive" plugin.
So it can explain that the order are not confirmed anymore, because the "paypal" one will refuse to update orders which are managed by "paypal adaptive".

I see the Notification URL in the IPN settings. What needs to go there? I also see a Return URL in the Website Payment Preferences. Where should that point to on my website?

Hi,

If you just use the paypal adaptive payment, the best is to change it to point to paypal adaptive.
(change "¬if_payment=paypal&" to "¬if_payment=paypaladaptive&")

Hi,

i've updated the IPN notification so that it reads: the-authors-club.com/index.php?option=co...pl=component&lang=en

However, the status updates still are not changing over to confirmed. The email we receive after an order has been made says, "A Paypal notification was received with the status COMPLETED. The order is now ." As you can see, there is nothing after the word, now. Payments are being made on PayPal and they're going through, but PayPal isn't sending the confirmation back to our website.

Our customers are not receiving their confirmation emails, either. What else could be wrong?

Hi,

There is a strange character, it should be "&task=notif& notif_payment=" (without the space after the &).
Hope with this format the character won't be stripped :

Update (11/13/13):

I placed 2 orders as a customer. The first order was for a free book that I added to my cart. That transaction worked as it should - I received a confirmation email.
However, when I purchased a book for $0.99, I didn't receive the confirmation email although I paid for the order via PayPal (using a personal account). I checked our store's PayPal business account and the funds were received and split up. When I go to my HikaShop control panel > "View your orders," it's asking me to pay for the book.

Any suggestions? I'll be glad to let you look at our website configuration and PayPal if necessary. I don't know what else to do.

Hi,

Today I checked your website and I updated your HikaMarket with the latest version.
The package fix some things that I saw in the payment log. I can't say if it will fix the problem or not.
It will be good if I can make some tests (maybe using a sandbox) so it will be easier to test the IPN.
For the moment it is quite hard to make tests, because I don't have access to the server log, I can't know if paypal call a webpage for the IPN (and what page it called).

So for the moment, I think we have to make some little tests to see if the last package of HikaMarket fix the problem.

I tested on the live site, but it still won't send the confirmation emails.

I noticed that in the sender information configuration of the order emails (Order created and order status update), that email is different from the one we use for our PayPal account. Does that matter?

Hi,

The paypal email address and the notification email address are two different things.

I see now that the test order have a ipn validation.

payment | created | automatic payment notification received | 173.0.81.1 | 2013-11-13 15:52

It means that paypal right call your website (so, a good news).
But the order is not set as "confirmed" from paypal, otherwise the order status will be changed into "confirmed".
You should have receive an email for the "PAYMENT_NOTIFICATION_FOR_ORDER", in the subject, the paypal status is displayed. Can you give me that status please ?

I think that you received a Pending notification.
