Hello,

I want a few catagories for my vendors.
So i have baby and kids and want all the vendors shown in that menu item.
I have a category business and office and only want shops with products in that categorie shown.

Is it possible to do something like that?
there are vendor categories but not like what i want. Because i want the vendors catagorized and not only the products they have.

Is it possible to only show certain vendors at a certain place instead of a list of all vendors?

Thanks already

Hi,

I am sorry but I don't understand your request.
There are options in HikaShop for the vendor category but I am really not sure that you're talking about that.

I have a website www.ecoplaats.nl .
there i show many webshops (vendors) and they are categorized.
So a shop sells only baby and kids stuff you can find the shops in baby and kids.
Its build in virtuemart and a shop is a product right now, so nice to catagorize.
because i want a better solution i want to use Hikashop ;-)

Because i also want people to configure there profile and products i think Hikashop is the software i want.

So i do not want to show all the shops (vendors) in one list but i want to have a possibility to show shop a and b under a menu item and show shop b and c under an other menu item.

What i would really want is that i could give a vendor a category like an product and show in a menu item the vendors of that particularly category.

If this is not possible i maybe can create an Product with a particularly theme for the shop self but that is why i wanted to go to hikashop market to do this right.

Thanks for your reply

Hi,

In the HikaMarket tutorial, there is a part which explain some details about the vendor categories.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...html#tuto_first_conf

You can configure HikaMarket to restrict your vendors in a specific category so they can't place their products anywhere in your store. It is called the "vendor root category".
By removing this restriction, at this moment your vendors would be able to select any existing category.
But you can also specify a category, which won't be the "vendor home", but another category depending on the vendor and what kind of product he will sell.

The vendor home is a category created by HikaMarket (if you activate it in the configuration). You have the specify the category which will receive this vendor categories. So by default they will be create in a precise place.
Like any other category, you can move a vendor category by changing is parent category. So you organize like you want your vendors in your category tree.
By setting the "vendor root category" to the "vendor home", the vendor will be restricted to his vendor category, wherever you place it.

If there is something you don't understand, if you think there is a missing feature. Don't hesitate to ask me.
I hope my answer will help you to understand the HikaMarket category management.
I don't visualize right what you want to do, that's why I am thinking that it might be something missing (and we will be happy to continue to improve HikaMarket).
