-- HikaShop version -- : Business: 2.3.2
-- HikaMarket version -- : 1.4.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.3

i want to create a few vendors and will always want to add myself...

Ss i am logged in as the super admin.
i go ti create a new vendor and on the eft under email it says super admin.
I cannot change it as there are No other admins....

so are the vendors linked to the users in the joomla user manager??
do i first need to vreate a user in usermanager and set to registered and then create a vendor and assign it to the user?
this is very confusing.

also i cannot see where to restrict the view of the vendor for the categories i set up.

at present i set it like

jikamrket > products > categories

Product category
Brand
Vendor category

i click the vendor category and see what i created

Vendor category
--venor 1
----Books
----Cermaics
----Art Deco
--vendor 2
----art

i dont see anywhere when i create a vendor that i can select what area of the above they can access or see only?

thanks

Hi,

Vendor admin
The "admin" (and not "super admin" as you said) is the administrator for the vendor.
It means that it is the joomla user account will be associated to the vendor.
You can create a vendor without admin but at this moment, nobody will be able to manage the vendor in the front-end.

More than the vendor admin, you can put some vendor users.
The vendor admin can (if the ACL does not forbidden it) manage the vendor users in the front-end.
So the vendor admin can remove a vendor user (but the admin can't remove itself his rights).

Vendor categories
You need to configure the "Categories" part in the HikaMarket configuration.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...nfig_market_category
In your case you can activate the option "Create categories for vendors" and set the "Change vendor root category" to "vendor home".

Hi,

You can create a product listing menu which will display all products in the "vendor category" category including all sub elements.
The display and the edition are two different things.

(And a vendor will never edit a product of another one)

"Create categories for vendors
does that not apply to have a vendor create the himself automatically?? I want to to create them manually and then let them load their products themselves. so i create a admin called regitered with username and password and then vendor can log in..... but WHERE does he do that please?

thanks.

sorry but client also want to have amaster catgories like

Art Nouveau - Art Deco
Art - Paintings
Books
Ceramics
Silver
Vintage - Retro

etc etc

where do i set those up ? outside what i told you i have set up yes?
(Vendor category
--venor 1
----Books
----Cermaics
----Art Deco
--vendor 2
----art )

so when a product is added it has to be assigned to 2 categories yes? one being on the vendor and the other being add to the category of choice above like book like silver etc??
am getting very confused.

like www.antiques-atlas.com they have a master way of viewing all the products as well as being able to view products in categories that ALL vendors are listed at same time. that is what client is after.
sorry

Hi,

HikaMarket creates the "vendor category" itself if it does not find the category for the vendor.

When you save a vendor in HikaMarket and the option "Create categories for vendors" is set ; HikaMarket will look for the vendor category (a category with the namekey "vendor_" + vendor id (like "vendor_2", "vendor_42", etc)).
If the category is not found, it will create this category under the "Parent category for vendors".

Hi,

I don't know and I have difficulties to understand your message or understand what you want to achieve.
I'm trying to explain you how HikaMarket works.

If you have main categories and you don't want to display the vendors in the category listing, you shouldn't force the root category for your vendors (so they will be able to select any category) but you will have to trust them.
Otherwise, you can use some custom plugin to set automatically the categories like you want.. There are tons and tons of solution but because I don't understand what you're saying and what you want to achieve, I can't help you correctly.
