Let me get this straight.
I make the main menu in the left column, which pulls up all my product categories. OK.
Then I go display->view->content modules->new for any categories that have subcategories.
But I have to go to Joomla and make a menu for the category that contains subcategories.
As well as a menu item for each subcategory.
Now, to display->view->content menu->new and make a product menu for each subcategory, making sure everything is published.
Save it without closing so the popup box telling me I didn't create a module comes up and I click there.
Scroll down the page and click the link for the new module.
Rename it. (So I can tell one from the other)
Publish the title, the page, change my columns, scroll farther down, select the proper menu from the pull down list and save.
Then up the page to click the arrow for Joomla module options.
Show Title, Select position, and then farther down for module assignment - on selected pages, and check the pages.
Like an hour, maybe longer, for 1 category, 6 subcategories...
And damn if there isn't a product anywhere to be found on the live site.
My laptop is about to learn to fly.
