Checkout reloads the same page when clicking next

I'm noticing when moving through the checkout steps using the 'next' button that i'm unable to get from the beginning to the end without the next button reloading the same page at least once. when this happens the url changes from (for example..)

/checkout/step/step-2

to

/checkout/step/step-3

but the page remains the same page that was there previously and i have to press the next button again. the checkout then proceeds as normal.

this happens on different steps every time but it does always happen. it's as if the checkout is trying to catch up with itself and i'm missing a step somewhere..?

does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

my steps in the admin are shown below:

This problem has been corrected after the first release of the 2.1.0, a new package correcting some few bugs has been uploaded since.

i've re-installed with the latest version but i'm still having the same problem with clicking the next button and getting a different step number in the url but the same page loading.

any ideas on what this might be?

Hi,

The step does not "grow up" when a value in the current step has changed or the next step refused to load because some data has changed.
The bug fixed in the latest version of HikaShop was about the "click twice". Some users had to click twice in order to validate a step and go to the next one.

Do you have the joomla alert messages displayed in your template ?
Maybe you have an alert message but you don't see it.

The step always 'grows up' when i click next but the page doesn't always move to the next one. i can be on the address step and click 'next' and the number in the address bar changes but the pages loads itself again.

i do have the joomla messages turned on and i do get the blue notification messages when using hikashop.

i'm wondering if it's something to do with requiring people to login or register as the first step.

i just mean that the notification boxes are working ok because i've seen messages such as 'cart is empty' when i've removed things from the cart. i'm not seeing any error messages when the page refreshes itself.

Hi,

Would it be possible to have a link and an access to your website in order to test your problem directly ?

you can see the test site here: walksandwildlife.co.uk/hikashop-menu-for-products-listing

once you've added an item to your cart you can log in with

user: *******
pass: *******

you'll notice that you can't go through the entire process without at least one screen loading itself again.

make note of the step numbers in the url as you go along and watch them change.

Thanks,

It is now a valid password.
So, I made a test and I didn't have any problem to go next to the final last step.

It works fine with the direct payment.
You have a wrong configuration for paypal.

thanks for checking. i'm finding now that sometimes i can get through to the direct debit form in one go and other times the payment page is refreshing when i click next. could this be a caching issue?

how could you tell that the paypal payment systems weren't set up currently?

Hi,

When I was redirected to paypal, I got an error message from paypal telling me that some information were wrong.
With paypal pro, I saw an error message telling me that the API access was forbidden for the account.

thanks for checking this, appreciate the help.

can you tell me where you saw that error message? i seem to be able to click through to paypal without any error messages.

with paypal pro, did you fill in your bank details in order to see the error message?

just curious, thanks again

Hi,

For paypal pro, I used a generic non-working credit card that we generally use during tests.
I got an error message in the joomla message zone.

For paypal (classical), it was a paypal message after the redirection to their website.
Maybe it was something wrong in my address. If it works for you so it should be good !
