Importing products - variants import problem

I exported my products from my current hikashop on joomla 2.5.9, to reimport them in my new build joomla 3.

Products imported with no problems. Variants claim to have imported with errors but do not show up #in the characteristics.

I include the variants from one product as an attachment below. You will notice it makes a lot of extra columns which are what gives the error below :

The column data was ignored

It says it ignores the extra columns and imports, but the part codes cannot be found anywhere.

Are you telling me that I need to re-create every single variant ? I have over 400 variants, and these variants have their own characteristics x 4 each minimum !

If so I think I may cry ! That would be totally crazy.

Ahh ok, but still, that means in my case about 400 characteristics to be made, and its not a big store, but at least I dont have to re-create the 1600 or so variants.

Its a hollow yayy but a yayy none the less. I guess Im off to do the painful excercise of creating those 400 characteristics manually then...ouchy still

exported the table, changed table name prefix in export to the new one, imported. Most worked so thats great!

Just a side note, the import didnt seem to bring in the same order for variants listing, so now I have variants with mixed up orders and unfortunately the variants dont seem to have a way of ordering them still apart from the way they are created , so big ouchy still as I now need to step through each product, check the ordering of the variant and delete them all and re create them if they are wrong:(
