Hi Hikashop,

I just finished a site noticed that has two W3C validation errors.

W3C Validation Results

Any thoughts on how to correct?

Hi,

You have to change the option "After a product is added to the cart" in order to not display the popup when adding a product in the cart.
At this moment the code for this mootools popup won't be added by HikaShop.

Hi Jerome, thanks for your reply but I am confused.

I want the popup when added to the cart. And that is not displayed on the homepage anyway - an thats where the w3c is not validating.

Or am I missing what you mean?

The popup system of mootools that we use for the add to cart notice popup requires us to have a rel attribute to a link element with the parameters for the popup size and type. This is not valid per the W3C guidelines.
That's why Jerome recommended you to disable the popup.

We can't change the code to make it compliant with the W3C guidelines without breaking the popup display. The only solution will be to not use the mootools popup anymore in the future but the jquery popup system or our own popup system. It's on our TODO list for the future but it's quite complex to do and we have other priorities at the moment so I don't have a solution for you.

Note that having a W3C validation error doesn't mean that there is a problem with the page. It just means that the code doesn't follow all the guidelines of the W3C. The display will still work fine for all the browsers.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the thorough explanation.

That makes sense; and yes... all displays properly and can live with W3C invalid.

Thanks again. Appreciate it~
