No State/County **Business Critical**

Hi, First I must point out how disappointed I am with this release, it is full of bugs and obviously has not been tested correctly.

I now find that when creating a new account the 'state/county' cannot be selected without firstly changing the country? I also cannot select it in the 'order' to correct this!

The changes also do NOT save therefore this is costing me money!

This is business critical as my postage costs revolve around the 'state/county'!

Please resolve these issues ASAP.

Hi,

You say that it is full of bugs.
We have released it more than one month ago and waited for feedbacks from users during all that time before pushing the update to everyone. In the mean time, we got lot of feedbacks from lot of users and fixed a lot of things and only pushed the update recently, since no more bugs were reported and had been tested extensively, both on our end, and by plenty of users. So it is incorrect to say that it has not been tested correctly.

There was no bug reported the state/country fields on that release and it's working for everyone else (thousands of users).
So it means that it must be something specific to the website.
The behavior you're describing happens when you removed/unpublished the country that was selected as default in the custom country field without saving again the custom country field with the new default value. So I would recommend to edit the country field via the menu Display>Custom fields, make sure that it has the default value you want and then save the custom field.
If that doesn't work, it might be coming from something else, like a javascript conflict with something else on your website (unfortunately, we cannot anticipate conflicts with the thousands of extensions out there) and we would need to see the checkout as well as your settings to be able to say more on the issue.

Hi, I have been using Hikashop for a few years now and do not change my settings as it's how we need it. You can see from the screen dumps that the County is ok but there is no default showing to select in the states?

Your settings are fine. Can you provide a FTP access so that we can put some traces on the code as we cannot reproduce the issue on our end ?

That was indeed a bug which was introduced in last version and which only happens when the id of the country field is different than 14 (which is the case on your website, but not on 99% of websites with HikaShop) and if geolocation is not configured.

I've added a patch on your website and we'll generate a new build of HikaShop in a few days with that fix included. Sorry for the trouble.

Next time you update HikaShop, I highly recommend you to do a test first on a copy of your live website, especially if it's something which is critical to your business. That way you won't have any pressure if you find a bug and we'll be able to fix it for you before you update your live website which will then be seamless.

Hi Nicolas, thanks again for your excellent work, your customer focus never fails to amaze me the lengths you go to solving problems.

Just a small one.. in the order 'main information' I used to be able to change the order status without entering in to the changes tab? small issue I know but this now means 2 extra clicks when changing the status?

Hi,

We imported the new order system implemented in HikaMarket into HikaShop.
The "HIM" changed a little so yes, it requires one more click than before to change an order status. But you can still update the order status in the order listing.

It is possible with a little view override to set some "blocks" in edit mode by default. So you can change the main view in order to set the "main information" block in edit mode by default.
