Hi guys,

I have been having the strangest thing happening over the past few months. Orders will come in with NO product attached. Screenshots:

I have spoken with users and they mention that after they select their payment option and are to be directed to payment (authorize.net or PayPal) that their browser just "hangs or something".

I initially thought this might be related to the "cart retaining period" which is set for a relatively short 15 minutes but i notice users creating a account and having the "no product orders" well within a 15 minute span, so that is likely not the issue.

Can you let me know any thoughts?

Hi,
Did you edited the Emails through "Hikashop->System->Emails" ? If yes can you test it without your customization (don't forget to save your customization before any tests) ?
Thanks.

Huh. I copied you on the email just so you can see that the cart is being emptied before they process the transaction.

This does not have to do with the emails. I have never edited Hikashop > System > Emails.

Hi,

It sounds like there was a SQL error when the products of the order were saved in the database.
Are you able to reproduce the issue ? If not, could you ask a user what steps he did to get that empty order ?
Once you can reproduce the issue, turn on the "debug mode" of the joomla configuration and do the test again. Hopefully, it should display an error message regarding a MySQL query at the end of the checkout which will help us understand what's going on.

I am not able to create the issue on my end, but it is specific to a few events (products) on my end. I am wondering if it is due to product names / or code or something in one of the tables associated with a variant of those products.

again of dozens of items sold, only two have had this "glitch"

Thanks.

The question then is what is the difference between these two products and the others ? Do they have options/characteristics/custom fields/etc that the others don't ?

still searching for something. One thing i have learned is that users are given a "this product is no longer sold" error when clicking the activation link.

I also notice that the main product has a "maximum quantity" = 1 but the variants have a "maximum quantity" = "unlimited" (screenshots)

Main Product:

Variants:

I am wondering if this might somehow clear the cart upon clicking the activation link.

What is strangest is that it clears the cart for some orders and not others. NOT a consistent bug.

Hi,

So can you test it without any "Maximum quantity per order" restriction for your main product ?
