-- url of the page with the problem -- : waughhd.com/component/hikashop/user/register.html
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.2
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.14
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.27
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 30.0.1599.69 & Internet Explorer 10
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : HTTP 500 Internal Server Error - The website cannot display the page.

I have updated to 2.2.2 (10-12-2013) Hikashop this morning. I am presented with an HTTP 500 error after I click the "register" button on the Hikashop registration page while using Internet Explorer. When I attempt to register and click the "register" button with Chrome it follows the proper HTTP 500 error page and sends me back to /index.php.

I checked in the backend and found the user had been made in both Joomla Users and Hikashop Users, but no email is sent to allow email confirmation of the account.

Disabling the hikashop registration redirect did not fix this problem. I'm at a loss here. Not sure why the system is not posting a page with a message about thank you for registering.

What other information do you need to help resolve my issue - I'm willing to provide any details to get this resolved.

Thank you for the great product!

Hi,

I tried to create an account in your website (using Chrome) and I didn't have your 500 error page.
Is your problem fixed ?

When you have 500 error page, please check your PHP error log to check if there is no PHP error which could generate this problem.
Otherwise, you can activate the Joomla debug mode in order to be informed if there is an error during a database query.
These will help us to understand the source of the problem and fix it.
But for the moment, I can't reproduce your problem in my side.

Kind regards,

iI have a few questions for you then...

1. When you created the account, were you informed that the account was created on my website in the message area in blue/white colorings?
2. Were you reverted back to the main index of the website without notification you created the account?
3. did you receive a activation email from my website?
4. Did you attempt to login with your newly made account?

I stopped working on it at 5pm yesterday still getting HTTP errors and not receiving confirmation emails and the accounts were not able to be activated without me forcing an confirmation email from the backend.

i noticed there are new login and registration options in the back end too.
(edit below)
i checked for php error logs, there were none. I checked our cpanel for errors there were none in relation to it. i enabled diagnostic messages but since you do not land on a joomla page when using internet explorer you get no error information from the http 500 landing page. testing the same with chrome, it seems to follow the proper redirect for an http 500 error, whcih is to revert back to /index.php. nothing in the diags provided any assistance when viewed since it only goes to the main page of the website.

Thank you! Due to your assistance I figured out how to get registrations working again - sort of.

I found that I had to disable this plugin for registrations to work:
Hikashop Registration Redirect Plugin

Is there a reason why this plugin would provide a HTTP 500 error?

I basically can't use the Hikashop registration... This makes me a sad panda.

Thanks,

daurwid

Hi,

The plugin redirect the user to the HikaShop registration form when he tried to open the Joomla user registration form.
There is no logical way that this plugin creates you a 500 error. And if you can't provide us the error message from the PHP error log, it won't help us to understand and solve this problem.
