One product not appearing if separated by pages

Tested in Chrome & IE10, Joomla 3.3.1, HikaShop Starter 2.3.1, PHP 5.4.29

In my products list view, I have set it up to show 3 columns and 12 items per page. One of the items I have in my store is not displaying and one is displaying twice. I have two pages of items; when you click on the second page of items I noticed the last item on the first page is also displayed as the first item on the second page. I can see the one product that doesn't display if I change the display count to view all the items.

Hello,
Can you give us a link to the page where you are having that issue so that we can directly test it ?

forthegrillofit.com/wine-selection

You'll notice the Bodegas Viña Nora is the last item on the first page of listed items and the first on the second page. When you show all items on a single page, the Spanish Cava will be there when it was left out amongst the 2-page format.

Ok thanks.
Could you provide a screenshot of the options of your menu so that we can see how the listing is configured ? (edit the menu with the id 397 via the menu Display->Content menus and you'll get the screen with all the options of the listing)

Hi,

So two potentially leads to follow:
1. set the "sub element filter" option there to "direct sub elements".
2. verify the ordering of the products of the listing (go in the products listing, set the "all sub elements" dropdown at the top right to "direct sub elements") and make sure that each product has a unique order in that category.

I have changed the option to show direct sub elements and now it does not show any items because the categories are organized as "Wine" and then the different varietals of wine underneath it.

Further, if I go to the products listing and display direct sub elements, again it will show no items. If I change the view back to all sub elements, it will display all the wines, and they do all have unique ID's.

Hi,

Can you re-set the "all sub elements" and use another ordering column, like "product name" for example ?

I've changed the options to all sub elements and order by product name and it looks like all the items do display properly on each page. You can take a look at the test link we've been working on throughout this thread to see the updated if you'd like. So I guess for my bug report, the problem here is when the value of the ordering field is set to the "ordering" value.

Hi,

To avoid the problem, you should set specific ordering values for your products.
Because you display products from different categories in a single page, the value "ordering" is not a consistency value.
Using a more "fixed" value like the product name assure that the sorting make by the database will be always the same.

Why would "ordering" not provide consistency? This seems like a bug to me. Don't all products have a unique ordering ID?

Hi,

It has to be but it depends on the value you stored in the database.
The algorithm is logically made to not allowed same ordering number, but by doing some specific actions, you can move products and put the same ordering number for two products.
The best is to check the ordering values in your HikaShop backend (product listing with "direct sub elements" display).
