additional categories to products

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time involved with this forum and software development. I have little experience with Hikashop or Joomla and hope I am not asking for help prematurely, but I cannot figure out how to add additional categories to my first 2 products.

These are the instructions I am following:

Categories

You can add several categories to your product. Then, when your customers browse your categories on your website, they will be able to see the product in each category you set here.


Add button : You can add a category by clicking on this button. That will displayed a popup with the interface to browse your categories, select them with the checkbox and click on OK to add them.
Delete icon : You can delete the link to a category by clicking on this icon. The category itself won't be deleted.
Please note that those modifications will only be applied when you save the product.
You will be able to show related products on the product page using a content module.



I've attached a screen shot showing what I am seeing. I select the additional category, in this case Summer Blooming Flowers, tick the check box, click on add, save the product and nothing.

I am assuming it is user error somewhere along the line, but it feels like I should be viewing the categories in the area where the check box is?
