Not to show a price on the listing page if options

Hi There

Great piece of software so far ! constantly impressed with functions.

Now after the creeping, back to my question :)

On my products listing pages I have a mixture of products that are single products and products with variations (ie options).

I was really impressed when I decided to turn on the 'add to cart' buttons for these and it replaced the 'add to cart' with 'choose options' for these products (nice touch!)

But then of course I wanted to display the price for these single products seeing as there is an add to cart button. so I swithced this on. The prices turn on ! great !

BUT, the products with options button also show the default variations price. not good as this then looks like thats what the product costs (people will moan)

So I guess what I would like to know is if it is possible for one of two options to happen. First option (the coolest) would be for the item to be able to grab the variations lowest and highest prices and display them as (£10 to £20) OR option 2 would be for it not to display a price for products with options on the product listing page because you have to choose your option anyway.

Any ideas to make my dream come true :)

On the listing of products, when you have products with variants, the price displayed is either the price(s) of the product itself if any or the price(s) of the variants of the product if the main product doesn't have any price. I put a (s) because in the hikashop options of your menu/module you can choose to display a range of prices instead of the cheapest price or all the prices, etc. That way, you can choose to display the lowest and the highest price on the listing.

Hi, thanks for your reply

I had played with range with very little luck, maybe Im doing something wrong ? ideally if range is selected it will display the lowest variant and the highest varient prices ? to give an indication to the customer of expected prices ?

Or of course display nothing at all there, but I can only do this by turning of displaying prices, which seems wrong when you want to display single items on the page with a add to cart button (kinda need to tell them then the price !)

:)

Could you try to replace the file administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/currency.php by the one in the archive enclosed (make a backup of the file first) and try again the range option. The current version does not handle different prices for the same minimum quantity for different variants so I've made a few modifications which might do the trick.

brilliant, its almost there, just being a little picky now rather than saying

for eample:
£100 each
£200 each

I think it needs a indicator to say what it means ? something like a simple 'to' inbetween would make it easy for the customer to understand ?

£100 to
£200 each
(centered of course:))

Then it would rock and cover all bases ?

You can do that by overriding the price strings at the top of the translation file with the interface in the config under the tab languages.
