Hi,

I have two questions which I have trouble of doing: (I have the free version of HikaShop)

1) I wish to create different shipping prices according to the quantity ordered. For example if a person ordered 1 memory card, shipment is free while for 2 memory cards, shipment is €1.00

2) I have been testing my account in order to process the payment via Paypal. Everything is going well and good but the only setting I wish to change is that if the client cancels an order from PayPal, 'Cancel and return to (email-address)' is displayed below Paypal payment. Can that change and be 'Cancel and return to (website address)?

Thanks and Regards,
Matthew Vassallo

Hi,

1. Suppose that all your products weight 1kg. You could create several manual shipping methods with weight restrictions like this:
from 0 to 2.5kg => €1
from 2.5 to 3.5kg => €2
...etc...
Then, based on the weight in the basket, the system will display the corresponding shipping methods.

2. That is a PayPal setting when you have a Business account with PayPal, it's not related to HikaShop: www.paypal-community.com/t5/How-to-use-P...Customise/td-p/38975

Hi nicolas,

Thanks for your response. I have managed to do the Paypal problem :).

About the shipping method, I do not know the weight of the items and that would be a problem for me. Is there a way that instead of weight, it would be according to the quantity of the item? Or am I takin it the wrong way?

Thanks

You don't need to know the weight of the items. Just put 1 for all of them. So when an order has one product, it will be 1kg, when it has 2 products, it will be 2kg, etc.
if all the products have the same weight in HikaShop you can easily know how many items you have it the basket by looking at the total weight.

Hi nicolas,

Yes sure that makes sens. But there is still some problems that I cannot solve right now. If I have 3 different items and clients can buy one from each item or as wholesale. Imagine having the below scenario:

Item 1: 0-2 items: free
Item 2: 0-3 items: free
item 3: 0-9 items: free

As you can see that the above ranges vary and if the range is greater than this above, the required shipping price is applied. Apart from that, all the items will still have different shipping prices since these have different kinds of weight.

How is this applicable to my scenario in this case please? Since if I make a shipping method say 0-9kg free, then if the other items (0-2 free or 0-3 free) are made greater than this range, the shipping price will still be free.

Well, you wanted to count the products, so I gave you that solution. If you want to set a shipping price for each product which is different from others, that's something else and it's not possible for now. The shipping methods are for all the order so there is no easy way to set different prices for different products and sum all that up. That's something which is in the todo list for later and not possible now.
