Using HikaShop Essential is it possible to have users login only with their registered email address?

Heres the link to my checkout page? daydreamercreative.cloudaccess.net/tees/checkout.html

Also, how would I remove the user menu title and dotted lines at the left of the thank you message on the thank you page?

It depends the registration mode you're using. If you're using "no registration", no joomla user account is created for your customers when they register, so they can't login.
But if you set it to "simplified registration", they will get an email with their username (their email address) and their password (automatically generated) and they will be able to use that to login onto your website.

The style of messages are handled by your template CSS.

I would like to remove the password field all together and allow users to login only with their email. I would use no registration but users have to enter their address and email upon each visit to the site.

Then you should use the "no registration" value of the option "registration" of the checkout tab of the configuration.

If I disable the feature all together then users will not be able to login at all but this is not what I want. I want users to login but only with their email and not a password. So I would use the simple registration value but how can I disable the password feature?

It's not possible to just have the users logging in with just their email as joomla doesn't allow that. You have only three possibilities:

1. Normal registration: users have to enter a username, email and password when registering. They can use their username and password to login afterwards.
2. Simplified registration: users only have to enter their email when registering. Their email will be used as username and a password will be generated for them and sent to them via email. They can use their username and password to login afterwards.
3. No registration: users only have to enter their email when registering. No user account is created for them in joomla so they can't login afterwards.

Nicolas I am still looking into changing the login function and I am currently working with some Joomla developers. I am confused however because I have the login module turned off in my Joomla application and I am able to change the language of the login inputs ("username", "password", "login") in the language section of the configuration page. So it seems to me that this login page is supplied by Hikashop and not Joomla; so I do not understand why I cannot receive assistance in removing the password fields. Please help me with this as the ability to edit the registration modes is the single reason I decided to upgrade to the essential package from the starter package. You've been Johnny on the spot with every other issue I've had; don't leave me hanging on this most important one. Thanks in advance.

The login page is indeed supplied by HikaShop. But behind the scene, what HikaShop does is that it calls the joomla login function with the username and password your provide. HikaShop is just in between but does not control how joomla behaves. It's not that we don't want to help you, no, it's just that it's the way joomla is done. I'm here to help you but I can't do the impossible. It is impossible to login someone to his joomla account with just the email address. The password is absolutely necessary. It's the way the joomla user login system is done and there is no work around besides rewriting the whole joomla user handling.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I am still looking for a reasonable and affordable solution to this issue and once I find it I will post it here.

I'm interested to see what you find because I don't see any easy way to do what you want :/
