Product Search?

I just need to add a simple product search for a site and cannot figure out how to link the joomla search to the hikashop plugin...both hikashop category search and product search plugin are published but I just cant find any way to link them to anything.

I have spent 2 days running every configuration of menus and modules I can think of and every time I get 0 search results. No errors, just nothing...

I am unable to find any walk throughs or discussions on this at all..it seems like it should be simple..

Please help.

I thought I replied the other day...anyway yes I do have 1.4.9 and running joomla 1.6.3 and like I mentioned both hikashop categories search and product search plugins are published. If it helps you can check out the site www.tassietubs.com.au/ I'm not sure what more to do..also, since we're here is there any way to edit things like how the product dimensions are displayed? Currently they read 355.000mm instead of 355mm and i cant find any setting to change this or any php file containing the html which is displayed...useing css to do things like this seems a bit messy.

Any suggestions?

All up to date and still nothing. More importantly, the checkout procedure is not functioning correctly. I have the 'Login' and 'Registration' set to none yet the title still shows up and in the address information field the text input for 'State' is not showing up so the checkout process cannot be completed.

I have been going over it for 2 days now and cant figure it out. Is there anywhere else other than the checkout tab under the configuration menu where i can edit this? (keeping in mind my coding skills are restricted to html and css..)
