I have HikaShop 1.5.1 loaded on a Joomla! 1.6.3 site. I've follow the tutorial as to how to set up products and have them display on the frontend of the site. I have a link in a menu, but when I click the link I get a 404 Not Found error. I tried deleting the menu and module and redoing it, but I still get the same result. What am I missing?

I'm still getting the not found error using my menu link, but I found that if I publish the "Associated products listing for category listing menu 150" in the Joomla! module manager, I can click on the link to the category and then see the products. I still can't figure out how to create a working menu item in the main menu. I'm also trying to figure out how to get the categories to display in the main content area. When I click on a product for more details it shows in the main content area. I would like all of it to display in the main content area to start with.

It's likely to be a problem related to the SEF setup of your joomla. If you don't need SEF URLs, the easiest solution is to disable the SEF settings in the configuration of Joomla.

I definitely want SEF URLs. Is there no way to use HikaShop with SEF URLs?

There is. It usually works and lot of our users use hikashop with SEF, but if you didn't setup the SEF and HikaShop correctly on your website, you will have problems with SEF. That's why I told you the simple solution of disabling it.

If you would like some help if finding why it doesn't work, you should start by giving us the URL of your shop so that we can see the problem.

Similar problem.

My URL is: store.larubinstein.com/

Categories display, but links dont work.

Then this link works: store.larubinstein.com/component/hikasho...skin-care?Itemid=497

But, then product links on the page dont work.

I have uninstalled JoomSEF and turned off SEF urls and URL rewriting.

Using Joomla 1.6 and Hikashop 1.5.2 Starter.

Thanks.
Rick

Could you turn off SEF on your joomla configuration so that we can see non SEF URLs on your website or turn off the cache of Joomla ?
Since we still see SEFed URLs on your website, it's either that you have SEF activated, or the SEFed pages cached by Joomla.

I cleared the cache and made sure sef was turned off, but this did not work.

I fixed the problem by reinstalling Artio JoomSEF and disabling SEF in the Manage Extensions for the HikaShop component. I dont have SEF URLs, but at least you can place orders.

If there's any other advice you can offer integrating Artio JoomSEF and Hikashop I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

There is no plugin made by joomsef for HikaShop so that would explain why it doesn't work. You could try to ask on their forum: www.artio.net/support-forums/joomsef
There is a joomsef extensions request forum there. They also provide their services for custom works so maybe you could ask them to build it for you ?
