Hello,
Could I get some clarification on Order status please.
IS THIS A SAFE METHOD
I would like the downloadable files purchase to be available to the buyer as soon as they make the purchase from PayPal.
To do this I have set the DEFAULT ORDER STATUS to CONFIRMED.
From the PayPal site they are returned to the ORDERS page and the Order Status is listed as Confirmed.
They can now click on their Order Number and be taken to their downloadable files.
Soon after the buyer will receive an email (from Hikashop) with the purchase details. There is a line near the bottom of the email saying:
"Your order will be processed as soon as we receive your payment."
In this case it probably should say something like "Your payment has been received. Thank you."
Perhaps this is not really a safe way to do it.
IS THIS A BETTER SAFER METHOD
Use the DEFAULT ORDER STATUS of CREATED.
I'm testing in the PayPal Sandbox at the moment so I have no idea if PayPal is notifying Hikashop that payment has been received.
When payment confirmation is received by Hikashop:
Is another email then sent by Hikashop to the Buyer telling them their order has been processed and then provide a link to their downloadable files?
Generally, how much time is involved between the emails:
Your order will be processed as soon as we receive your payment - email, and the:
Email confirming payment has been received and you can download your files here email.
Buyers will want to be able to download files as soon as they make the payment.
Your guidance on this would be appreciated, thank you.
Kind regards,
Robin
