Navigation Issue

Issue: The page title doesn't change when you click on a category to the right, but if you click on the navigation category link it works correctly.

The site is www.zombiepicks.com

In the navigation if you click on Products (it expands) and then you click on a sub category link (any of these) on the following page that shows the actual products, the page title with the products is showing the correct one.

But if you click on Products (Notice the Hot Picks Products is the page title to the right) and then click on one of the 3 categories on the right, the page title still remains as Hot Picks Products no matter what product page you are on.

I have gone over every place I can think of to change this and I cannot find anything.

Thank you!

You need to go in the menu Display->Content menus, edit your menu (id 4) and make sure the option "Use menu name instead of category name for the title" is turned off. Then, in the joomla options of the menu, make sure that the heading title option input field (in the parameters on the right of the screen) is empty.

Hello again,

I've set up a second cart on a different site ( www.nexgencollectibles.com ) and I've followed your instructions in this thread, and the settings are correct, yet I'm experiencing the problem again. To qualify this, I am using Joomla 1.7 and your newest version of the hikashop.

If you look at the site, and click on the Products button in the top horizontal menu, the navigation on the left side of the page works perfectly.

So the problem is if you click on the Products button on the top horizontal menu and then click one of the items below. That then shows a massive picture and description. I'd like this to display identical to when you click on one of the categories in the left menu.

A secondary problem, is when you add something to the cart and go to checkout, it shows your cart to the left during the checkout process. Shouldn't this go away once you end up at the check out process? We used our last cart in catalog mode, so I'm new to getting the commerce part hooked up.

Thank you for your help!

~Michael

Hi,

1. The title correctly updates on your website when you go in the different categories, so it seems to work.

2. It displays the image of the category because you activated the option "show image" in your menu's hikashop options. Just turn that option off and you won't see it anymore, as with your menu of the left.

3. That's because your cart module is assigned by default to all the pages of your website. You need to first set a menu for the option "Force a menu on checkout" of the Checkout tab of the config and then assign your cart module to all the pages of your website except that one.

#1 and #3 seemed to be fixed with these changes

#2 - I've tried that everywhere. But more importantly, it seems that hikashop is showing two sections when accessing from the top menu... Both a category view *and* a product view stacked below, where accessing from the menu on the left, it only displays the products in that category. If in the main window I click a category (i.e. apparel) I wouldn't think it would show me the category and products in that category, since I already clicked on the category to go to it. That seems redundant.

But I've realized probably a better option, since the menu on the left is already displaying and showing the same options in the main screen could be confusing, is to use this initial product page to run maybe a single image/article. At least for now until I understand the cart a bit better.

Thank you again for your support!

Best regards,

~Michael
