Hikashop is sending me a TON of confirmation emails for my order... how do I make them stop? (both for store and for the customer).

HikaShop should sends only one email when it receives a payment notification.
However, when your payment gateway doesn't receive a successful response from your website when it sends a notification, it will try to send it again later. So it could happen that you would receive a lot of emails if the payment gateway would keep sending notifications to HikaShop.
Which payment gateway are you using ?
Did you configure it correctly ?

I'm using Paypal, and probably DIDN'T set it up correctly. But I didn't see anywhere to put any API information in. So I just used the email address I used to create the Paypal store account which I verified in Paypal to accept payments.

Is that pretty much all I do, or did I miss something?

Could you try to activate the debug mode of the paypal plugin and the debug mode of the joomla configuration. Then try again a purchase.
If you look at the emails or the payment log file (there is the path of that file in the Files tab of the configuration of HikaShop), do you see errors ?
If not, could you give a link to your shop so that we can try a purchase and see if we find anything ?

Your paypal payment plugin is not configured properly. It disappears from the checkout once an address is entered. So I'm not able to test anything. You should check on that FAQ www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...ins-listing.html#faq

Also, you didn't provide the payment log file. That would also help in understanding the problem.

I'm not sure where to get the log file, but also...this doesn't look like how I set it up. Something has changed since I sent it in. It was working fine yesterday. Right now it looks like I am requiring registration in order to order something...but that isn't what I want. I'll look into it and get back to ya...don't know what happened, but it's a little frustrating.

The payment log file path is an option in the tab Files of the configuration. It will only be generated if the debug of the payment plugin is activated.

Ah, I got it. Apparently there IS a requirement to register before purchasing, as seen in the screen shot. Once registered, everything looks normal, at least to me. And as you can see, the PayPal option is there. Do you not see this option?

I can see the paypal method while not registered/logged in, but when I login/register on your website, I don't see it.

That's weird, because I do. Is there some sort of setting somewhere to only allow a super user to have access to a certain payment option?

Your country is USA, mine is minnesota and that's the only one I can select. Please read the FAQ. It clearly explains the problem :
5/ If you restricted your payment methods to zones, check that the address you're using is inside those zones ! Otherwise the payment methods will be filtered out.
Thus, you should remove the payment plugin's zone restriction that you setup.

This was an attempt to solve another issue I was having with taxes, but I got lost and confused. You can see that discussion here: www.hikashop.com/en/support/forum/4-how-...ity-taxes.html#22703

But I've put back United States as a country, please try that again.

Ok, NOW I got an email saying an ip address wasn't in the allowed IPs. Why is there an allowed list in the first place, and how should I manage it so that I make sure I get orders from the people I want?

I was able to make an order on your website. I tried to access directly the notification system and the email you received was because only PayPal is allowed to do that, for security reasons (otherwise, anyone could validate your orders and you don't want that).
I did that to test the notification system. I got the normal error message that the access was forbidden and no other error. So I couldn't determine why paypal would be sending lots of notifications.
Please make an order with the paypal debug mode turned on and provide the payment log file so that we can understand the problem.

Via FTP. The payment log file path is an option in the tab Files of the configuration.
