Changing the image for a product

I'm having some difficulty changing an incorrect image for a product.

All my product images are uploaded to the upload folder, but when I use the image selector it sets the root for the image directory to the images folder on the website, not to the upload folder. So I cannot see the product images to find the correct image for the produce.

How do I get the editor to work correctly with hikashop for product images.

Thanks

Jim

The path of images in products cannot be changed. You need to delete the image and add a new one in the images area of your product.
The description editor of images are not for the description of the image (which is not used for now), so there is no point in trying to add images in there.

Yes, Nicolas, that is exactly what I am trying to do. I am adding a new image and deleting the old one.

BUT, it is the process of trying to add the new image that I am having problems with.

When I press the add button, I get an editor popup window and see an option to upload a file from my computer, when all I want to do is to select an image that has already been uploaded.

If I click the image button lower in the editor window, I see the image files in the site image folder and can't find the upload folder!!

I seems such a really awkward way of managing product images that I can't help thinking that I'm missing something obvious, and that is ought to be more straightforward than this.

Many thanks for the quick reply.

Jim,

Did you try to put the name of the picture into the yellow field left to the brows button.

like pic001.jpg

Thanks, Koen. Yes, I tried that but I got an error message that I did not press the browser button. When I press the add button, I would just like to be taken to a display of the images in the upload folder so I can pick the right image to add.

It's not possible to select a file on your website. You can only upload images in your products.

I have multiple CDs from which I'm stocking multiple mp3 files for download. For all the mp3s from a given CD I have the same image. It sounds like I am stuck uploading each image up to 13 times. I would like to put in a feature request that the product images can be gotten from existing folders.

I had the added frustration that my editor's image insert and Phoca Gallery buttons were showing inside the image (and file) add box, appeared to work but resulted in a message saying, "You didn't add your file via the browse button."

Thanks.

It's in the todo list.

We'll remove the description field as it causes misunderstandings and is not useful for now.
