Category on front page

This might be a stupid question, but...

Is it possible to show a category or product listing in the main section of the front page? So for example, in the red section in this image.

I'm pretty new to Joomla :blush: , and can only figure out how to put an article on the front page. Are articles the only thing which can be placed in the main position?

You can put anymenu on that part of the front page. For that you need to set the menu you want as default in the menu manager of joomla.
So if you want a listing of products there, you need to set a hikashop products listing menu as default and it will appear there.
