Does Hika do Membership or Recurring Billing?

Hi,

Thank you for the explanation.

There is no pro-rating. The subscription period begins the moment that the order has been confirmed and is extended the moment the recurring notification is received, one cycle later.
So if you have a $100/a month for a subscription plan and you subscribe to it on the 10th of the month, you will be charged $100 each 10th and the subscription will be extended at that time.

That's however an option which could be added in the code of the plugins without too much difficulty if you're a developer.

Note that HikaShop 2.0.0 has been released along with the PayPal recurring plugin and the new Akeeba subscriptions plugin.

Hi Nic,

I installed Akeebasubs and Hikashop + plugins. Everything is working, however, I can't get paypal recurring payment to work. Only single payment works. Any suggestions?

Hi,

You need to activate and configure the hikashop paypal recurring payment plugin and have the recurring option turned on for your subscriptions levels.

Hi Nicolas, I can't seem to find paypal recurring payment plugin...

Also, is there any documentation for setting everything up? Mine is a simple product which will take yearly recurring payments...

Hi,

Do you have created a recurring subscription in Akeeba Subscription, and assign this subscription to the product you want to order in HikaShop ?

Hi X,

There seems to be something not quite right on the PayPal side.

1) Checking out with a Paypal account, creates and confirms the order and creates the subscription in Akeebasubs. However, the recurring payment is not setup in PayPal.

2) Checking out with a credit card, the order is created but not confirmed, and no recurring payment in PayPal is created.

The question is, is this an issue on the PayPal side or an issue with the Hikashop Paypal plugins?

P.S. I'm testing on a live PayPal account.

Thanks

Hi All
I am also having a problem in getting the subscription to work.
I have downloaded and installed the Akeeba subscriptions module.
I have downloaded and installed the Hikashop paypal recurring payment plugin.
As per the Akeeba instructions I have setup a Joomla user group and assigned that group to a new viewing access level.
I have installed and configured Akeeba Subscriptions and created a 30 day subscription level.
The Akeeba Subscriptions Custom fields, Joonla Usergroups, Emails and PayPal are all enabled.
The Akeeba Paypal plugin has been configured with my Paypal information, I am not using the sandbox option, I will test on my live account.
I have enabled the Hikashop Paypal recurring payments plugin and clicked on the Hikashop options link and selected;
- Use price from subscription component
- Environment = production
- Email address is configured
and left the others as the default. I refreshed the IP's.

Based on the Akeeba documentation I now need to Integrate with 3rd party software which I assume to be Hika, but there is no mention of how you integrate Akeeba with Hika (there are plenty of others such as Community Builder, DOCman etc).

I have read the information at www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...ons.html#description and see that if I create a new product then I should get the option to set the subscription level (highlighted by a red box), but I don't get this option.

Help please
Thanks
Mike

Hi,

Have you set the subscriptions as recurring subscriptions in the akeeba subscription component ?
Is the PayPal Recurring payment method displayed on the checkout ?

Hi Parker
Thanks for sharing your info. I've already got much the same as you (I have shipping), so no joy, but I did go through each of your settings to cross check. I appreciate your input :)

Hi Xavier
Set subscriptions as recurring - yes, I did. Interestingly, and not detailed in the pdf user manual, is that I have another field on my screen which is called "Forever" with a Yes/No radio button based response. I had selected Yes (assuming that I wanted the process to go on forever), however when this is selected the Subscription Length (Days) is reset to zero when the record is saved.
I have set it to No and have entered 30 (days).

The Paypal Recurring payment method is not shown at checkout.

The option to select the Subscription level on my product screen is still not showing.
Cheers
Mike

Hi,

If you don't have set the subscription level on your product, so the recurring payment solution can't be displayed.

Do you have installed our akeebasubs integration plugin, and enabled it ?

Hi
Yep agreed, as I am unable to display the subscription level on my product page I can't do subscriptions.

Yep, I've installed Hikashop Paypal Recurring Payment Plugin and HikaShop Paypal payment plugin as I sell a product and a subscription to the product.

Paypal payment plugin works just fine as orders have been processed, but the Paypal recurring just won't "show up" on my Hika product page.

I have been over everything so many times and cannot see where I am going wrong

I'm not talking about the paypal recurring plugin, but the akeebasubs integration plugin, the link to download that plugin is here:

Hi Parker
Thanks for your reply, but it seems that I had missed part of the installation routine and forgot to load a plugin - doh!

... it's always the little things :)
