Does Hika do Membership or Recurring Billing?

It's still very much an option. It's still being maintained (patched where needed in case of bugs, etc), they just don't offer support for it anymore through their forum. That's all.

But i would also rather have a hikashop native subscription possibility though.

No it is not a real option. It creates invoices on different places, people see different layouts templates, checkouts
Bookkeeping goes crazy with different invoice numbers, no overview of totals etc etc.
A fully integrated option, including the coupon discount system would solve a lot of issues for us.

Not if u set it up properly.

U create your subscriptions in Asubs, then make a new product in hikashop and link it to the subscription. Done, Akeeba generates the invoice, Asubs takes control of the subscription part. It's all in the documentation.

But i won't argue that an integrated option will make thing easier.

Thats only true if you sell subscriptions only. If you also sell goods, they mixup and that is an issue.
Either way I would love to see a fully integrated option :-)

Hello!

At this date, end of 2014, what is your advice for the memberships in Hikashop.
Must i use "Akeeba subscriptions" or wait for a extension for the memberships in hikashop?
Many Thanks
Best Regards ;)

you don't "HAVE" to use akeebasubs, but it's the only one that is supported by HikaShop itself. So it's either use akeebasubs if you want it integrated or wait, or use a standalone memberships extension

Hi,

Akeeba Subscription is working fine and is pretty stable. We have many users using it, and it seems to be ok.

Else we have another integration:

Xavier,
I have a couple of clients who are looking for subscription models, and shop trading also, i notice that HikaShop are still saying to use Akeeba Subscriptions, when there is a formal announcement that it is not support. When you were at the Sydney JoomlaDay2014 your team mentioned that you were looking into developing this as an in house feature, how has your team gone with that?

akeeba-subscriptions.html

This is a bugfix release. All users of the 4.x versions are recommended to update. As announced in November, this version has removed most of the payment processor and integration plugins. Otherwise. Akeeba Subscriptions 4.x merges all the features of the older Core and Professional releases.

This is a developers' product, provided without any kind of support. If you opt to use it you agree that you do not expect to receive any support from us.

Hi,

Akeeba Subscriptions is not supported anymore but it still works and we have many customers still using it.

Since then, Emerald has released their own integration with hikaShop, so there is already an alternative to using Akeeba Subscriptions:
www.mintjoomla.com/download/joomla-3/ite...action-hikashop.html

On our end, we still have the project of developing our own subscription system but it's not a priority and we didn't start anything yet. We preferred to focus on other areas where there is simply nothing available yet and which should be released in the next few months.

Hello Everyone,

I used the Emerald software with Hikamarket Multi-Vendor software on this cooperative membership gallery and it works well. artrageus1.com We are now in the process of signing up members who, once they pay their subscription, can post products to the website automatically as long as their subscription is active. Hikamarket has the ability to add multiple commission types based on the User Group of the vendor which is tied to the subscription they purchase. It is all very automated. It took a bit to set it up but the developers at both Hikashop and Emerald are very responsive. Hope this helps.

PS. I recommend buying the Lifetime Emerald membership because after I paid for the main software program and the plugins I needed to do the job I was only about $50 off from that long term membership.

Warm Regards,

Dawn
