different folder for category images than product

I see that when i upload an image for the category it stores it in the same folder as all the images for the products.

Is it possible to separate these?

I would like to have the categories images stored somewhere like the media\images folder and have the product images stored in the upload folder as normal.

this way i can clear out the product images when i get new stock without the risk of deleting the category images which will stay the same.
