Bit of a Joomla template / Hikashop checkout stage

Hi guys wondering if anyone else has noticed that proceeding to checkout stage within hikashop forces the site back to its "default" template irrespective of what template was assigned to the "shop" item within Joomla. This obviously has implications with the appearance of the page but also makes me worry that ALL hikashop settings assigned to a particular JOOMLA TEMPLATE will fail as the hikashop checkout automatically falls into the DEFAULT joomla template. Is it there anything I can do to stop this happening?

On my site Im counting on assigning templates to different sections of the shop. So this works great when I go "in" to the section of the shop, however as soon as you move to hikashop checkout phase the site pulls in the "default" site template. Is there anyway to stop this happening?

Any thoughts very welcome, Im sure I cant be the only one who uses seperate joomla templates within their online store *hopes*

Hi,

That is controlled by the "force menu on checkout" option of the configuration of HikaShop. If "none" is selected (which is the case by default), it takes the current menu and thus use that template automatically. Otherwise, if a menu is selected, it will display the checkout only in that menu and thus only use that template.

I will try to experiment with that, but theres only one setting per instance of hikashop so Im not sure if that will help as I was counting on assigning different templates to different area of the shop categories. Atm I link from an article which has the correct template assigned to it. The article eatures "add to cart html link" copied from each hikashop product page. As soon as I click those links Im switched straight to the "default template" :/ If I run from the very beginning with hikashop Im hoping the template assigned to the menu option will be carried all the way through to checkout?

That's your problem.
The links in the "add to cart button HTML" of your products do not include the Itemid parameter which is used to pass on the id of the menu because HikaShop does not know where you want to use that HTML.
You just need to add at the end of your add to cart links &Itemid=XXX where XXX in the id of the menu where you're pasting the HTML link and then it will be passed on the checkout.
