Purchase without registering

Hi there, just wondering is it possible to set hikashop up to just send on order data by email, rather than via joomla?

So when the customer clicks to buy, instead of going to an order page that requires registration, can the name, address, and other details just be sent to the shop owner via email?

It would save registering for those who are reluctant and keeps any private data out of the website database.

Or if registering is required, could all of the data except username and password by sent on by email, rather than through the database?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi,

You can change the option "Registration" to "no registration" in the Checkout tab of the configuration for that (commercial editions only).

Hi, found that thanks.

I've set login to no and registration to no, the login has gone, but the registration is still there and the page is still headed "Login or create new account".

Should I remove it in the checkout workflow too?? Hopefully there will be a form that just sends the order details to an email to the shop owner??

Much appreciate your help! :)

Look more closely. When you changed that option, the username/password fields were removed from the registration field. All which is left is the email field and the address fields.
The text still says registration, but it's not creating a user account for the user anymore.
If you want to change the text, you can override it:
www.hikashop.com/en/download/languages.html#modify

If you remove the login view from the checkout, your users won't be able to enter their email or address. It can be done, but then you don't know who buys what on your store.

Yep, need glasses, like these... B)

Is there a way though to take the name, address, order info etc and just send it to the shop owner via email and paypal? That is, keep any info generated by an order out of the backend of hikashop entirely?

I'm aiming at an easy to explain, discount option to set up for some clients, that doesn't have any database security concerns.

I think it would be great to have HikaShop just working as a 'catalogue'. Hope this is possible somehow within HikaShop?

If you want HikaShop to just work as a catalogue, you can turn on the option "catalogue mode" of the configuration. There won't be any add to cart buttons and the users won't be able to buy. It will really be a catalogue.

But that's doesn't sounds like it's what you want. It's not possible to not create the order in HikaShop but still send the user to PayPal. In that case, you could simply use a paypal button in the description of your products so that it goes directly to PayPal:

Had a look, thanks for the link. It would be fantastic though if this could be done inside hikashop. I see there are button makers that work inside of joomla's backend. Maybe this type of functionality could be part of hikashop with the order total being sent via the button to paypal??

It could be, but we're not thinking about that for now.
