Means to "handle" inconsistency of stock levels?

Hi guys

is there a way to handle the inconsistencies in stock levels which arise from people adding tickets to cart (and not completing), or people going to the payment step (e.g. going to paypal) and not completing?

Has anyone looked into a workaround, possibly of the nature of a cron job which puts stock back if the order remains on "created" for too long?

Does changing the status of the order / deleting "created" orders return those items to stock?

Hi,

That only happens when the orders are created not when the products are in the cart.

There is actually already a plugin called "Hikashop Orders Automatic Cancel Plugin" for that which uses the cron task (so you need one of our commercial editions). It cancels automatically the orders after a certain time that you can configure in the plugin's options.

That means that you can also manually cancel the orders and the products of the order will be added back to the stock.

You can find the plugin in the plugins manager of joomla, like any other plugins :)
Just publish it and make sure that your cron task in the configuration of Hikashop is properly setup.
