I'm Stumped - Menus, Modules & Layouts...

For some reason, I can't seem to get my brain around how HikaShop determines how to display categories and products using menus and modules. I think I'm so used to how Virtuemart works, I can't break that way of thinking. Here's what I'm trying to do and I hope you can help.

I've got a K2 item that will be the "front page" of my store (which is in catalog mode currently). On that page I made a {loadposition xxx} and created a module to display all of the categories in my store. So far, so good.

Once I click on a category image or link to view the products in that category, no products are displayed. But I've also created a link/menu item as a side nav bar that the link to same category displays how I want.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

same here.

i deleted some module and now the products don't display. i tried associating modules but it doesn't work the same.

how do i setup the modules/menus/content to be the same as the default install of just clicking a category and then the products? or a simple explanation of how to build/associate modules/menus/content?

@lancert :
That's indeed the case. The menu you select in that option needs to be a hikashop category listing menu (and it needs to be configured correctly but default settings are fine), otherwise it won't work properly.

@jasonhoblin :
If you delete the modules created automatically, it's normal that you don't see the products anymore as the modules created automatically are in charge of displaying the products under the category listing when you create a category listing menu.
The easiest is to just create a new menu of the type hikashop category listing via the joomla manager. The default settings should allwo you to navigate through all your products.

You can follow the tutorial there:
