hi we are selling joes turkeys
we need to sell two types an organic and a regular. organic is 3.99/lb and regular 3.29/lb.
they range in size from 8lb to 30lb. at 1lb increments.

i would like it to display like so:

Joes Turkeys
my description

pick your size (select ranging from 8-30lbs)
pick your type (select organic or regular)

$price
quantity box
add to cart

i am not sure i understand the example in the help box to set this up.
do i need to create a characteristic of each combination?

how do i go about this?
thanks, Liz

Hi,

No, you need to create two characteristics, size and type. For each, you enter all the possible values.
Then, you can add both characteristics to your products and variants of the products will be generated automatically based on the possible values.
Then, you can click on the "manage variants" button and edit each variant to set its price.

If you have lots of products with the same characteristics, the best is to do it once and then use the copy button on the products listing (business edition only) to duplicate the product and then just change the name/description.

oops nicolas, just found out that the organic has different weight options. so a regular would be in 1 lb increments from 8-30 pounds but an organic turkey would be in 4 pound increments from 10-18 pounds. so only two options 10-14 and 14-18

do i need to make them separate products? or is there some way that if they pick the organic the options change for the weight values?

thanks, liz

You can set a weight for each of you variants when you edit them via the "manage variants" area. So it's not necessary to have two products. But that's also a possibility.
